Brother in the Lord

When you're a babe in Christ every little thing someone does for you gives you such a boost in faith. When we started our walk with Christ our financial life was a struggle, to say the least. Of course it has turned around now, but then Brother Marvin saw our need. Sure mowing a yard earned Marvin money, but now that I think about it I'm sure his time on the mower was spent with the Lord and counting and thanking God for his blessings. I would like to think the day he came and mowed our yard he was thanking God for the new family that had started coming to church. My family. We sure thanked God for Brother Marvin who always greeted us on the church steps with a good morning, a firm hand shake and a pat on the shoulder. Mowing our yard wasn't the only way Brother Marvin showed his love for our family, we could see it in every interaction we had with him. Don't you know the very next week we came home to a riding mower sitting in our driveway he had left us. Marvin was a fine example of what a Christian Brother is suppose to be. I hope he knew how much we loved him and how thankful we were for him. I know now He has met our Master and although I will miss him sitting in front of us at church, I am so happy for him.
