Obituary for Marvin Estes

Marvin Estes, husband of Emma Lee Patrick Estes and the son of the late Sherman and Clora White Estes was born in Lee County, Kentucky on October 29, 1938 and departed this life in Irvine, Kentucky on February 8, 2017 at the age of 78 years, 3 months, and 10 days. Marvin never met a stranger and was known for his warm smile, personality, and firm handshake. He worked as a custodian and a bus driver for the Lee County Board of Education for more than 20 years, as well as digging graves and mowing on the side. He was a devoted member, elder, and board member of Hopewell Church of God.
In addition to his wife, Emma, Marvin is survived by three children, Ricky Estes and wife Shannon, Marilyn Perkins and husband Cliff all of Beattyville, Kentucky, and Donna Marshall and husband Byron of Booneville, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Israel Osborne, Sara Osborne, and Zachary Estes; 4 great grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Ruth Drake of Pensacola, Florida; four brothers, Orville Estes of Connersville, Indiana, Eugene Estes of Campton, Kentucky, Larry Joe Estes of Beattyville, Kentucky, and Wallace Estes of Memphis, Tennessee; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harlan and Lonzo Estes; and two sisters, Hazel McCormick and Magalene Ridgesberger.

Pallbearers include Zach Estes, Israel Osborne, Randy Estes, OC Estes, Steve Estes, and Harlan Estes, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim Flinchum, Zachariah Estes, Cliff Perkins, and Byron Marshall.
