Obituary for Betty Loraine Cockerham

Betty Louise Cockerham, daughter of Demma Roach Cockerham was born in Beattyville, Kentucky on November 12, 1942 and departed this life at her home in Beattyville on March 7, 2024 at the age of 81 years, 3 months, and 25 days. She was a retired teacher’s aid for the Lee County Board of Education and a former Eastern Star member.
Betty leaves behind her two children, Penny Benton and husband Jeff of Beattyville, Kentucky and Scott Melson and wife Stacy of Panama City, Florida; two grandchildren, Aaron Charles and Raven Melson; two great grandchildren, Jacey Nicole and Macy Jae; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Demma and two sisters, Brenda Hacker and Ruby Campbell.
