Obituary for Charlie Green Mays Jr.
Charlie Green Mays, Jr., son of the late Charlie Green and Eliza Jane Amburgy Mays was born in Lee County, Kentucky on October 18, 1929 and departed this life in Beattyville, Kentucky on December 2, 2023 at the age of 94 years, 1 month, and 14 days. He was a retired logger and coal mine heavy equipment operator as well as a former Lee County Sheriff from the years 1962-1964.
Charlie leaves behind one son, Randal Mays, Sr.; nine grandchildren, Randal, Samantha, Makayla, Dakota, Buddy Lee, Nathan, Shelby Marie, Malia, and Heather; his ex-wife, Carlie Tirey Mays; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sudie Marie Puckett Mays; a daughter, Bonnie Sue Mays Wilder; and two sons, Scotty and Buddy Mays.
