Obituary for Lillie Ruth Bryant Wilson
LILLIE RUTH BRYANT WILSON, 87, departed this life on August 3rd, 2021 after a brief illness at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, Kentucky.
Born in Athol, Kentucky on June 14th, 1934, Lillie resided most of her adult life in Beattyville, Kentucky before she and her husband Bill retired to Sun City Center, Florida.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Wilson of Sun City Center; one brother, Kelly Bryant, Jr. of Sun City Center; one sister, Bertha Coomer of Pontiac, Michigan; two sister in-laws Lorene Wilson of Stanton, Kentucky and Dana Wilson of Ortonville, Michigan; and a host of nieces and nephews. Lillie is also survived by three ladies she thought of as daughters, Susan Bowles Reemelin, Patty Dunahoo Saylor, and Lockie Vanderpool.
Lillie is predeceased by her husband Ralph B. “Bill” Wilson; her only son Billy Lee Wilson; her parents, Kelly and Polly Ann Hollan Bryant; and three brothers Herman and Herbert Bryant and Harlan Jackson.
Lillie worked as a cook at the Lee County Middle School, a sales clerk for Brandenburg Dollar Store, Rose Brothers Department Store, the Novelty and Gift Store and Greg Mays Department Store.
She was a loving devoted wife, mother, and friend. Lillie had a smile that could light up a room and was easy to love. She was of Christian Faith and spent her life helping others, young or old, to have a better life by whatever ways she could. Her home had a revolving door for those who needed a temporary home filled with love and food from an awesome cook while they got back on their feet.
