My Cousin

I have so many "stories" of growing up in this family of cousins, I wouldn't know where to begin. Millie and I talked so much of Papaw's barn, the old apple tree, Christmas's past,  the "ghost stories" our Granny would tell us, and the list goes on.  She still talked about those childhood days as if they were yesterday. Actually we still all do! Very close group of cousins. Although Millie made California "home", she never forgot her roots. She still felt at home when all of us were together. In 2016, I spent 13 days with her, Tammy and I did. The memories we made will never leave. Fortunately, in May 2018, I again spent 12 days with her. Once again, memories were made, we never dreamed that day at LAX when she said good bye, it was goodbye. We talked of the memories we would make again next summer. She loved Kentucky and her family.  The love of her life were those grandchildren. We all agreed "you can take the girl out of Ky but you can't take Ky out of the girl."
