I remember this lady coming to our little school. I was always so excited when our teacher would tell us that the "Bible Teacher" would be there that day. She would come into the room and set up her presentation board. As she would tell us the bible stories, she would place these beautifully, colored illustrations on her board as an aid to telling the stories. I loved the stories, and I loved the beautiful illustrations. She would make the bible stories come alive. I remember her being a sweet, and kind person. She told about the wise man building his house upon a rock, all the while placing the illustrations on her board. This story always stood out for me, and I have always remembered that as I built my life.
It was a magical timie when she came. It was a time that Jesus was still allowed in our school. She would lead us in song, and assign bible verses.
She was my first connection with Jesus, and she help lay the foundation of my religious beliefs when she would visit our tiny school. May God bless this wonderful lady. I will never forget her stories. Rest In Peace. Mary (Rapier) Saylor
