Obituary for Zenith Palmer Thorpe

ZenithThorpe, age 93, widow of Everett W. Thorpe, died Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Lee County Care & Rehabilitation, Beattyville, KY. She was born September 26, 1922 at Long Shoal of Lee County, KY to the late Oscar Palmer and Cora Stacey Palmer Hogan. She was a member of Canyon Falls Evangelical Congregational Church where she served as Treasurer for many years while living in Canyon Falls, KY. Zenith was a homemaker and also worked in retail sales after her children were grown. Zenith is survived by six children: Janice (Frank) Moore of Marion, MI; Lana (Bill) Tomlin of Lake Orion, MI; Edward (Treasa) Thorpe of Marshall, MI; June Murray of Washington Township, MI; Samuel (Deborah) Thorpe of Winchester, KY; and Donna Sue (Doug) Herrick of Lawrenceburg, KY. Zenith was blessed with twelve grandchildren: Glenn Moore, Cheryl Moore, Teresa Culver, Mark Tomlin, David Tomlin, Ben Thorpe, Steven Murray, Susan Murray, Keith Murray, Stephanie Nash, Ryan Gabbard, and Walker Thorpe (deceased); 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She has one surviving sister-in-law, Jean Thorpe of Beavercreek, OH, and was preceded in death by her brother, Cecil Palmer, and one son-in-law, Harry S. Murray.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Moore, Mark Tomlin, Steven Murray, Ryan Gabbard, Ben Thorpe, and Perry Thorpe.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Lee County Care for their excellent care, many acts of kindness, and the genuine love they gave Zenith during her stay.
