Dorothy Potts, daughter of the late Joseph and Mona Marcum Tipton, was born in Lee County, Kentucky on November 9, 1931 and departed this life in Irvine, Kentucky on July 2, 2015 at the age of 83 years, 7 months, and 23 days. She was a wonderful seamstress both at home, where she sold quilts, and at work at Lion Apparel. Dorothy was also a good neighbor with a pleasant smile who loved her flowers.
Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Anna Lee Rothweiler and husband Roger of Beattyville, Kentucky; one sister, Dovie Lynch and husband Charlie Dale of Beattyville, Kentucky; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by three sons, Bobby, David, and Raymond Thacker; one sister, Geneva Barnes; six brothers, William Charles, Homer, George, Anderson, Herbert, and Rudy Joe Tipton.
