Gordon R. Phillips, son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Lena Mae Hambrick Phillips was born in Lee County, Kentucky on April 20, 1940 and departed this life in Beattyville, Kentucky on September 10, 2019 at the age of 79 years, 4 months, and 20 days.
He is survived by two sons, Kevin Phillips and wife Melinda of Beattyville, Kentucky and Michael Kelso of Clay City, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Katlyn and Jordon Phillips; a special friend, Carolyn Brandenburg; two brothers and one sister, Gerald Phillips of Lexington, Kentucky, Floretta Thorpe of Irvine, Kentucky, and Larry Lee Phillips of Beattyville; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by a son, Gordon Scott Phillips; three sisters; and five brothers.

Pallbearers include James Phillips, David Tyler Stamper, Jordon Phillips, Bobby Ray, Mike Kelso, and Nicholas Bowman.
