Obituary for Herbert Hobbs

HERBERT HOBBS, the son of the late Clay and Eva Coomer Hobbs, was born in St. Helens, Kentucky on August 14, 1941 and departed this life in Beattyville, Kentucky on August 31, 2019 at the age of 78 years and 17 days. He served in the United States Navy from 1963-1967 where he served in the Vietnam War at sea on a naval ship. He served in the Army Reserves after being honorably discharged by the Navy. He retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot in Richmond, Kentucky and was a HUGE Kentucky Wildcats basketball and Cincinnati Reds fan.
Mr. Hobbs is survived by four sons, Wayne Hobbs and wife Leah of Granby, Missouri, James Hobbs and wife Ladonna of Diamond, Missouri, Mitch Hobbs and wife Della of Goodman, Missouri and one more son; 14 grandchildren, Kyle, Connor, Quinn, James, Joey, Carrie Baker, Jaden, Christian, Heather Greene, Crystal Kocurek, Samantha, and three other grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; two brothers, Russell and Charles Hobbs both of Beattyville; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was a dear & loving man, father and grandfather.
Mr. Hobbs was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Michael Clay Hobbs and Patrick; five brothers, Lewis Charles, Homer, Joe, Billy Ray and June Hobbs; and one sister, Cindy Farthing.
