Mervin Crawford, the son of the late Lovely and Melissa Jett Crawford was born in Lee County Kentucky on April 21, 1938 and departed this life in Richmond, Kentucky on June 7, 2019 at the age of 81 years, 1 month, and 17 days. Mr. Crawford was employed by Ashland Oil Company for over 25 years and worked as a rig operator for much of that time. He Worked for Ideal Bottle Gas Co. of Beattyville as a truck driver and furnace installer; and was also a logger and farmer.
Mervin leaves behind his loving wife, Janice; two sons, Emery and wife Marjorie and Michael and wife Brenda all of Beattyville, Kentucky; two brothers, Clarence of Winchester, Kentucky and Sam of Lexington, Kentucky; four sisters, Shirley McCoy of Charlestown, Indiana, Brenda Spillman of Lexington, Kentucky, Doris Crawford of Coeburn, Virginia, and Norma Hinch of Jenkins, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Christy Kincaid, Byron Crawford, and Keshia Crawford; one Great Granddaughter Brianna Kincaid; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Merv Jr.; a brother, Dennis Crawford; and four sisters, Vina Olinger, Viola Morris, Juanita Hampton, and Nancy Campbell.
