Obituary for Arvada Maloney Thomas

Arvada Maloney Thomas, widow of Billy (Hookie) Thomas, Sr. and the daughter of the late Floyd and Ida Maloney, was born on January 3, 1937 in Lee County, Kentucky and departed this life in Lexington, Kentucky on May 30, 2019 at the age of 82 years, 4 months, and 27 days. She was a homemaker and a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, loving her roles as “Granny” and “Nanny”. She enjoyed feeding everyone and hosting family get-togethers. Arvada was affiliated with Abundant Life Faith Center.
She is survived by three daughters Tammy Evans (Larry Lucas) of Beattyville, Kentucky, Ida (Penny) Painter (Robbie) of Stoutsville, Missouri, and Jacqueline Newton of Beattyville, Kentucky; three sons Billy Thomas, Jr. (Pam) of Beattyville, Kentucky, James Thomas (Connie Roberts) of Booneville, Kentucky, and David Thomas (Rebecca) of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; one sister Jackie Lauritsen, of Arizona; one brother Floyd Maloney of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter due in September; and a host of other family and friends.
In addition to her husband of 43 years and her parents, Arvada was preceded in death by one son, Danny Thomas; one grandson Derrick Thomas; and two brothers, Charles Edward and Clarence Maloney.

Pallbearers include Gary Evans, William Painter, Ben Thomas, Andrew Smith, Zachary Rice, Blake Thomas, Brandon Thomas, and Robbie Painter.
