Roy Gene Shouse, widower of Janet Bennett Shouse and the son of the late John A. and Carlie Fox Shouse was born in Lee County, Kentucky on May 28, 1932 and departed this life at his home in Beattyville, Kentucky on February 20, 2019 at the age of 86 years, 8 months, and 23 days. He was a United States Marine and was a retired mechanic for Chevron. Also, he was a member of the Lee County Saddle Club, loved riding his horses, reading his Bible, and all together, enjoyed life.
Roy is survived by his fiancée, Nadine Collins of Beattyville; five children, Eugene Shouse of Carlisle, Kentucky, John Shouse of Henderson, Tennessee, Barbara Race of Florence, Kentucky, Teresa Rowe of Covington, Kentucky, and Harold Shouse of Beattyville; 16 grandchildren and several grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Conley of Xenia, Ohio and Mary Clems of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Bobby Ray Shouse of Stanton, Kentucky; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents; four sisters, Gladys Wagner, Lovie Brinklan, Inez Butt, and Lucille Towe; and three brothers, James Shouse, Vernon Joe Shouse, and Conley Shouse.
