Brenda Joyce “BJ” Hacker, daughter of the late James and Demma Roach Cockerham was born in Beattyville, Kentucky on February 2, 1940 and departed this life in Irvine, Kentucky on September 2, 2018 at the age of 78 years and 7 months.
Brenda is survived by three children, Jody Davidson of Beattyville, Kentucky, Toni Marhefka of Louisville, Kentucky, and Kelly Hillman and husband Bill of Beattyville, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Tessica Patrick and husband Raymond of Richmond, Kentucky, Baron Marhefka of Lexington, Kentucky, Megan Cromer and husband Scott of Louisville, Kentucky, Chris Brewer and wife Sarah of Beattyville, Kentucky, Marissa Hillman and William Hillman, both of Beattyville, Kentucky; five great grandchildren, Austin Brewer of Richmond, Kentucky, Jocelynn Peck and Coby Brewer both of Beattyville, and Zoey and Zayden Cromer both of Louisville; one sister, Betty Cockerham of Beattyville, Kentucky; a niece, Penny Benton of West Liberty, Kentucky and a nephew, Scott Melson of Berea, Kentucky; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Demma Cockerham; and one sister, Ruby Campbell.
