Christine Brandenburg Ross, widow of Dearrel Ross and the daughter of the late Floyd and Ollie Smith Brandenburg was born in Lee County, Kentucky on July 14, 1924 and departed this life in Irvine, Kentucky on May 1, 2018 at the age of 93 years, 9 months and 17 days. She was a member of the Church of Christ, loved to sew and make quilts, crafting, building cabinetry and furniture, dancing, and tending to her flowers. She was a good friend to everyone.
Christine leaves behind one daughter, Mildred Ann Steele and husband Rod of Pleasant Plain, Ohio; five grandchildren, Pamela Caplinger, David Steele all of Goshen, Ohio, Rodney Steele of Charlotte, North Carolina, Lisa Smith of Versailles, Kentucky, and Eddie Ross of Beattyville, Kentucky; twelve great grandchildren, Sara, Jason, and Hannah Ross, Meagan, Aimee, Iain, Wilson, and Alyssa Steele, Chloe Caplinger, and Dylan and Brianna Iams, and Tyler Smith; one brother, Murril Brandenburg; and a host of many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Christine is preceded in death by one son, Calvin Ross; and siblings, Mary Jane Brandenburg, Clinton Brandenburg, Lula Mae Newman, Lonnie Brandenburg, Marcus Brandenburg, Anna Lee Turner, Earlene Clark, and Thomas Brandenburg.
