Obituary for Ethel Mae Morris (Powell)

Ethel Mae Morris, Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the age of 78 years.
A native of Lee County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Herman and Lydia Powell. Born on Sunday, August 6, 1939, Ethel graduated from Lee County High School in 1955 and married Paul Dywane Morris in 1958.
Ethel was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Shelbyville. She was a Kentucky Colonel and served on the boards of numerous organizations including Beta Sigma Phi, Quicksand Area Homemakers Association and the Letcher County Homemakers Association. She also enjoyed years of service as a Sunday school teacher and 4-H leader.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Paul, a daughter MaryAnn Gramig (Keith), a son, Adam Morris (Kimberly), seven grandchildren (Kyle, Katherine, Brian, John Paul, Annemarie, Abraham and Adam Clay) and two great-granddaughters (Ashlynn and Emma).
Webb Funeral Home will handle arrangements in Shelbyville. Visitation will be Friday, April 13 from 10 a.m. to noon at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2388 Burks Branch Road, Shelbyville, with a remembrance service officiated by the Reverend Kevin Kimes at 1 p.m. A visitation will also be held Saturday, April 14 at Newnam Funeral Home, 108 Center Street, Beattyville, from noon to 2 p.m. with burial to follow at the Little Stamper Cemetery, Greys Bend, Beattyville, Kentucky. Serving as pallbearers will be Adam L. Morris, Kyle A. Gramig, Abraham Morris, Adam Clay Morris, Keith Gramig and Quentin Taylor.
