Ercie Charles  Watkins
Ercie Charles Watkins, widow of Samuel Clay Watkins and the daughter of the late Alfred and Emma Moore Charles was born in Beattyville, Kentucky on June 1, 1929 and departed this life at her home in Beattyville on January 6, 2018 at the age of 88 years, 7 months, and 5 days. She was a former Head Start teacher and a devoted member of the Beattyville Church of Christ.
Ercie is survived by three children, Peggy Wilson and husband Glen of Beattyville, Kentucky, April Stevens and husband David of Richmond, Kentucky, and Sam Watkins of Lexington, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Candida Luttrell and husband Walter, Cassie Noe and husband Mark, Brandon Watkins and wife Amanda, and Brittany Rose and husband Andy; 9 great grandchildren, Samara Miller, Dylan and Macy Noe, Cole and Mason Rose, Carson and Mallory Watkins, and Sienna and Scarlett Luttrell that are expected in April; three sisters, Grace Brandenburg of Beattyville, Kentucky, Edith Lamb and husband Glendon of Waynesville, Ohio, and Mabel Barrett of Blanchester, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; one brother, Willard Charles; and one sister, Alpha June Palmer.

Pallbearers include Andy Rose, Brandon Watkins, Walter Luttrell, Joe Mullins, Darren Steele, and David Stevens.
Honorary Pallbearers include Archie Moore, Glendon Lamb, Glen Wilson, and Jordan and Jacob McCoy.
