Obituary for John Pryse Coomer

John Pryse Coomer, son of the late McClellan Clennie and Nevilee Coomer was born in Lee County, Kentucky on August 29, 1935 and departed this life in Jackson, Kentucky on August 3, 2017 at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 5 days. He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church, a former factory worker, police officer, rock drill operator for a construction company, a bus driver, a court bailiff, and a farmer. He loved gardening, fishing, singing and playing guitar, playing pranks, and telling jokes.
John is survived by one daughter, Venessa Embry; four grandchildren, Sally, Heather, and Woody Ray Embry all of Beattyville, Kentucky, and Jamie Patrick of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; a special brother, Ralph Coomer and wife Dana of Beattyville; brothers and sisters, Tommy McIntosh of Georgetown, Kentucky, Donnie Coomer of Beattyville, Kathy Flanery and husband Bobby of Lexington, Kentucky, Jackie Caudell and husband David, and Brenda Shuler and husband Ray all of Beattyville; his little buddy, Jalyn; and his dog, Fathead.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Marcia Coomer; a brother, Lawrence Coomer; and a sister, Anna Sue Coomer.

Pallbearers include: Woody Embry, Travis Mays, Steve Mays, Shelby Davis, Ray Shuler, Billy Joe Coomer, Bo Fox, and Wesley Coomer.
