Obituary for Henry Potter Spencer

Henry Potter  Spencer
HENRY POTTER SPENCER, the husband of Betty Jean Strong Spencer of 60 years of Athol, Kentucky and the son of the late Herman and Jeanette “Nettie” Stamper Spencer, was born in Chavies, Kentucky on January 18, 1933 and departed this life at his home in Athol on March 1, 2017 at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 11 days. He was a retired auto mechanic; a member of the Pentecostal Church of God; and loved fox hunting, fishing, hunting rabbit, deer and turkey, cooking for others, and especially loved devoting his life to serving God and his church.
In addition to his wife Betty, Mr. Spencer is survived by three daughters, Yvonne Spencer Jett and husband Bennie of Midway, Kentucky, Freda Spencer Bishop and husband A.G. of Booneville, Kentucky, Sonya Spencer Johnson and husband Robert, Jr. of Beattyville, Kentucky; a granddaughter, Sheyenne Grace Spencer Johnson of Beattyville; two sisters, Hilda Judd of Beattyville and Betty Army of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Spencer was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Inez Stapleton and Wanda Arnold; and two brothers, Eddie Herman Spencer and Richard Palmer.
