Alden Edward Blood, Jr. son of the late Alden Edward Blood, Sr. and Virginia Lucinda Thomas was born in San Francisco, California on January 1, 1925 and departed this life at his home in Lee County, Kentucky on December 23, 2016 at the age of 91 years, 11 months, and 22 days. He was a veteran of the U S Coast Guard; earned a PhD, and was an Organic Chemist working for Eastman Kodak in research and development.
Alden is survived by his wife; four children, Kirk Blood and Candice Blood Wood (Rick) of Texas, Shawn W. Blood (Kathy) of Florida, and Shelly Blood of Texas; special granddaughter, Kaela A. Fox (Dustin); one brother, Thomas M. Blood (Rose) of Arizona; two step children, Ronald Burdine and Jean Jagdmann both of Beattyville, Kentucky; sixteen grandchildren, Ethan Blood (Jenny), Angela Blood McGuire, Billy Wood, Bonnie Gonzales, Leslie Wood, Alden J. Blood, Amber Blood Strayer, Jamie (Garrett), Jenny Dennis, Jessie Dennis Jucha, Mandy, Dustin, Michael, Kalika, Aurora, and Malachi; Ethel J. (mother of Kirk, Candy, Shawn, and Shelly); and many great grandchildren and nieces.
