Obituary for Charles Edward "Jingles" Boggs Sr.

CHARLES EDWARD BOGGS, SR., the husband of Trudy Boggs of Beattyville, Kentucky, and the son of the late Matt and June Burton Boggs, was born in Perry County, Kentucky on May 28, 1934, and departed this life at his home in Beattyville on August 6, 2016 at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 9 days. Charlie was a skilled carpenter being a member of the Local Union 104 Carpenters Union, was a Navy veteran, an avid bowler, loved riding his scooter, and loved his family and life stories.
In addition to his wife Trudy, Charlie is survived by five children, Sheila Smith of Knoxville, Tennessee, David Boggs of Fairborn, Ohio, Keith Boggs of Houston, Texas, Melissa Moll of New Carlisle, Ohio and Matthew Boggs of Leesburg, Florida; thirteen grandchildren, Nikki Workman, Sheryl Elliott, Nathan Smith, Lisa Perry, Amanda Brandenburg, Titus Boggs, Elizabeth Boggs, Rebecca Daily, Rachel Boggs, Aaron Boggs, Ian Boggs, Justin Moll and Joshua Moll; ten great grandchildren; four sisters, Helen Combs of Buckhorn, Kentucky, Lotheta Lamb of Princeton, Kentucky, Adele Sandlin of South Carolina and Mary Fiffe of Fairborn, Ohio; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Charles E. Boggs, Jr.; his first wife, Velda Boggs; and three brothers, Ernest, Robert and Orville Lee Boggs.
