Obituary for Bonnie Lavearle Gumm (Bailey)


MRS. BONNIE LAVEARLE BAILEY GUMM, the wife and homemaker of Wilmer Jack Gumm of Beattyville, Kentucky and the daughter of the late Cord Wayne and Nell Cundiff Bailey, was born in Lee County, Kentucky on April 15, 1933 and departed this life at her home in Lee County on March 10, 2016 at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 24 days.
She was a loving wife, mother and devoted Christian. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and especially enjoyed their visits. She was a former computer board assembler, a former member of the Lee County Homemakers, a member of the Primrose Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Sugar Camp Baptist Church, and enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, cooking and gardening.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Gumm is survived by four children, Sharon Gross and husband Marvin of Beattyville, Kentucky, Pamela J. Taggart of Milford, Michigan, Debbie K. Pelfrey and husband Dennis of Beattyville and Lisa A. Stamper and husband Michael of Beattyville; eight grandchildren, Scott, Derek and Tim Gross, Ryan and Lauren Taggart, Jessica Todd, Melinda and Jordan Stamper; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Harold Bailey of Beattyville; a sister, Patty Stewart of Easley, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
