James T. Land, husband of Linda Carroll Land of Beattyville, Kentucky and the son of the late James Monroe and Georgia Coomer Land was born in Lee County, Kentucky on September 13, 1930 and departed this life at his home in Beattyville on January 7, 2016 at the age of 85 years, 3 months, and 25 days. He was a member of the Local Post 11296 VFW, Proctor Lodge #213 F&AM, and the Oleika Temple of Lexington, Kentucky. He was also a member of the Lee County Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by three children, Valarie Burnett of Beattyville, Vicky Taylor and husband Stephen of Lexington, Kentucky, and James Land and wife Heather of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and ten brothers and sisters.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Tommy Land; his first wife, Betty Land; a son-in-law, Mike Burnett; two sisters, Mary Alice and Mavis; and one brother, Joe.
