Daniel Johnson, 79, of Beattyville, Kentucky, husband of Irene Kidd Johnson, passed away on September 11, 2015 at Lee County Care and Rehab. Daniel was born April 30, 1936 in Lee County, Kentucky, son of the late Henry and Alta Turner Johnson. He was retired from the Lee County Road Department and was also a member of the Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three brothers, James Johnson and Charles (Janice) Johnson of Beattyville, Kentucky, and Cecil Johnson of Booneville, Kentucky; five sisters, Edith (Billy) Steele, Pearl (Bobby Joe) Estes, and Gladys (Sam) Estes, of Beattyville, Kentucky, Ethel Belcher of Jackson, Kentucky, and Visie (Ernie) Dean of Booneville, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; five step children, Donna Overbee of Beattyville, Rita Stump of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Rhonda Stump of Stanton, Kentucky, David Stump of Booneville, and Daniel Stump of Alamogordo, New Mexico; nine step grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Daniel is preceded in death by one brother, Walter Johnson; two sisters, Rosa Sargent and Prudie Johnson; two half-brothers, Hilyard Johnson and Henry Clay Johnson; and four half-sisters, Nancy Roberts, Joyce Marcum, Mary Spencer, and Martha Johnson.
