Obituary for Rowena Perkins (Stamper)

Rowena (Stamper) Perkins, 80, passed away peacefully in the arms of Jesus after a long stay in hospice care at St. Joe in Lexington, Kentucky on March 31, 2015.
Mrs. Perkins was a lifelong member of the Church of God of Cleveland, Tennessee.
She was the loving wife of Bernard Perkins for 55 years, whom passed away on March 21, 2006 and beloved daughter of the late Alburn Stamper and Roonie (Spencer) Stamper of Beattyville, Kentucky. Also preceding her in death are her four siblings, Wallace Stamper, Austin Stamper, Jean Hogan, and Margaria Marie Stamper (1939).
She is survived by four children, Patricia Lair(Paul), Bernard Perkins, Jr., Mitchell Perkins, and Jay Perkins; three granddaughters, Cindy Gentry (Randy), Jayci Marie Perkins, and Jessica Patterson; eight great grandchildren, that loved their little granny very much, Alexa, Madison, Amber, Sara, Daniel, Mallory, Evan, and Blake; two brothers, Charles Stamper and Eddie Stamper; and one sister, Dottie Cooke.
Funeral Services will be at Newnam Funeral Home located on Center Street in Beattyville, Kentucky, April 4, 2015. Visitation will start at 11:00 and funeral service, officiated by Pastor Mike Krupa from Kingsway Assembly, will follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at the Stamper Family Cemetery located on Rock of Ages Road in Beattyville, Kentucky immediately following the funeral service.
Donations can be made to the Hospice of the Bluegrass of Lexington, KY 40504. They are a wonderful group of people that loved and cared for our Mother.
