Gerald Rice, husband of Vera Deaton Rice of Beattyville, Kentucky and the son of the late Everett and Norma Mullins Rice was born on September, 20, 1946 and departed this life in Beattyville, Kentucky on April 7, 2014 at the age of 67 years, 6 months, and 18 days. Gerald was a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Coast Guard for 36 years and a New York City Police Detective for 15 years.
In addition to his wife, Gerald is survived by one daughter, Donna Rebecca Wells and husband Troy of Windham, New Hampshire; two step-daughters, Tina Smith and husband Bert of Hindman, Kentucky and Tammy Roarch and husband Jesse of Kendallsville, Tennessee; two step-sons, Robert E. Lee and fiancé Ronda of Hindman and Glenn Wayne Lee and wife Jennifer of Beattyville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Rice and Everett Rice; one sister, Margie Rice all of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a host of other relatives and friends.
