Donald Lee Griffin, 63, of Rolling Acres road, Beattyville, Kentucky was the husband of Mildred Ross Griffin, died Saturday, October 12th, 2013 after illness at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY.
He was born on August 6th, 1950 in Lee County, Kentucky to the late Earnest and Thelma Griffin of Old Landing, Kentucky. He was a member of the Pine Crest First Church of God. He worked at Okonite Company, was an Army Veteran of Vietnam, and a corrections officer at the Lee Adjustment Center. He also worked for the local Habitat for Humanity and the Christian Appalachian Project.
Survivors in addition to his wife Mildred, include three sons: Donald Wayne Griffin (Vickie) of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; David Griffin (Lynda) and Scotty Griffin (Sarah) both of Beattyville, KY. Donald’s brothers include: Herman and Omer Griffin, both of Beattyville and one sister, Shirley Faye Mays of Beattyville. Grandchildren are Shannon, Travis, Donald Earl, Emily, Brooklyn, Kendra and Scott Michael Jr.
Donald was preceded in death by four brothers: Arthur, J.C., Clayton, and Earnest Jr.
