Obituary for Janice Carrole Kincaid

Janice Carrole  Kincaid
Janice C. Kincaid, Lexington, KY passed away Monday October 24, 2011. She was born May 31, 1937 in Beattyville, KY, the daughter of the late Shelby and Gertrude Glancy Kincaid. She graduated from Lee County High School in 1955, and the Nazareth School of Nursing, Lexington in 1958. She worked many years in different hospitals and doctor’s offices before being hired at St. Joseph Hospital where she remained for 22 years. After leaving the hospital, she planned, developed and managed the Lexington Surgery Center for 11 years. Janice was a member of Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary, Lexington, KY. She is survived by one sister Shirley (Dale) Faulkner, Florence, KY one sister-in-law Carole Kincaid, Beattyville, KY and one very special friend Linda (Bill) Blackburn, Lexington, KY. She was very proud to have twelve wonderful nieces and nephews that contributed to her care, Mary Jo (Gary) Gentry, Sharon Clark, Lou Ann (J.B.) Akers, Shellye (Doug) Perry, Kay Lotz, Elicia (Gene) Combs, David (Hiroko) Faulkner, Kathy (Scott) Fosson, Timothy (Hsiu-min) Faulkner, Phillip (Judy) Faulkner, Toni Sue Kincaid and Phillip Kincaid, along with many great-nieces and nephews, cousins and great friends. She was fortunate to have two special angels as caregivers – Elizabeth Elam and Shaunna Stockdale.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Napier, brothers, Shelby Kincaid, Jr. and James Douglas (Tony) Kincaid. She was a special and unique lady that gave of herself to help and please others. Janice was known for her fairness in her leadership ability. Her loyalty to family and friends was exceptional. She was a devoted animal lover and a generous supporter of numerous charitable organizations.
Donations suggested to the Hospice of the Bluegrass or the Lexington Humane Society.
